Melanie Vazquez is a Mexican-American artist from a South Suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Melanie’s concerns are to focus on providing authentic solutions and aesthetic to her work that is reminiscent of Latin-American culture and traditions through murals, paintings, digital media, prints, film photography, and interactive projects. The medium utilized in each artwork comes from a genuine fascination for the process to create the artwork. Plenty of vibrant colors, symbols of Latinx culture, and depictions of personal experiences are found within her artwork. Melanie has shown her work with Bennett Day Upper School, Hilton Chicago, 1001 South State, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Hokin Gallery, The Arcade Gallery, and has collaborated with her friends and colleagues for Dock 6 Design. Melanie received her BA in Fine Art with a minor in Visual Arts Management at Columbia College Chicago.
